the game recommends the game is for people ages 15 and under. but for those of you who'd like to take a step into your past, i think this game is for you as well.

before you begin, it is essential to create the perfect atmosphere. so crank the volume hit the lights and prepare for the worst nightmare of your entire life! also a must is a vcr, since it is an old school tape. a tape is a contraption like a dvd. sort of like what a 8 track is to the cd.

object of the game:
to collect all 6 of your character's keys and then race to the center of the board. but be on your gaurd, the gate keeper can appear at any second, call you a maggot and banish you to the black hole. not only that, as if that was bad enough, but he knows your greatest fear.once you get to the center take the top fear card, is it yours? if not race to the vcr and press stop. and you win! once the tape reaches 60 minutes, the gate keeper wins. i think we all know what that means!

Keys:
each character can receive 6 keys, and with each key you recieve more power. keys are awarded by the gatekeeper, but can be won on the board.

chance:
keys can be also awarded by chance. some cards have halfs of keys. receive two opposite halfs, and you get a key!also if the card says your character and number you receive a key.

fate:
they provide you with power or protection from your opponents. these usually require a coin.

time:
once the game begins a counter will appear on the screen. the time cards relate to the counter and you will receive actions to perform at particular times.

the black hole:
there are two black hole spaces on the board. if you are sent here by the gatekeeper or land here, you cannot participate in the game unless you are specifically upon by the gatekeeper.

once the gatekeeper appears or calls on you. you must answer him "yes my gatekeeper"
if you fail to so he will get angry, and no one wants an angry gatekeeper!

a themed party:
the game suggests for a themed party everyone should be assigned characters and come dressed for the part.

are you ready to take on nightmare? you filthy maggot!
